Cake Competition

Hello, we are Imogen and Simran, two of the Maths Ambassadors. Recently, we have had a maths competition involving baking cakes and making them maths themed, for example writing an addition sign on them in icing. We also decided to do a cake sale to raise money for the school because we are going to go to Crayford to buy board games so that we can start a Maths Club. We raised £125!

Display Walk

Hello, we went around the school taking photos of Maths displays from Reception to Year 6. We are glad that displays are engaging and are helping children in their maths learning. We saw displays showing times tables, fractions and place value as these are the areas the different classes are working on.

Interview with Year 3 Children

We are Darcie and Beau two of the eight Maths Ambassadors.

Last week we went into the playground and asked some year threes some questions about maths. We asked Dylan, Pramiti and Millie.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT MATHS?

Dylan said that he enjoyed times tables and practises at home.

Pramiti said that is was all very interesting.

Millie said that she enjoyed everything.

DO YOU LIKE MATHS?

Dylan said that he did like maths.

Pramiti said that she enjoyed maths and thought she was getting better.

Millie said that she also enjoyed maths.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MATHS SUBJECT?

Dylan said the he enjoyed division.

Pramiti said that she enjoyed times tables.

Millie also said that she enjoyed times tables and she liked playing on TT Rock Stars at home.

We are really pleased to hear that the years 3s are enjoying their maths, we hope to report soon.
