There will be no more choir rehearsals now for a while as we all recover.
We will let you know when choir will be restarting.
Thank you again for all your support,

28th February 2019
We can now confirm that the first new choir practice will take place on Wednesday 13th March from 3:15 to 4:15, and each Wednesday until the end of term, unless you are notified otherwise.
Please encourage your child to give choir a try. We have already registered with Young Voices for 2020. This is an amazing opportunity to be involved in the largest juniour choir in the world. It is a unique experience.
Secondary pupils are not able to take part in the same event - this is only for primary children.
We are letting anyone try choir for this term, until Easter, when we are asking for pupils to choose and make a committment for choir from April.
So ... come and give it a go.
There's no necessity to make a committment to choir until Easter.
I look forward to seeing as many as possible there. :)

Young Voices 2018
On Monday 5th February 2018, the choir got ready to board the coach to attend the 'Concert of the Year!'. The children ate their packed lunch at school, then headed off to the 02 Arena for an afternoon of rehearsals and hard work.
We arrived comfortably, in warm sunshine and were met by efficient staff who shepherded the rapidly arriving bus loads of children into the Arena with as little fuss as possible. There was a fair amount of noise as children discussed the coming afternoon, staff made endless trips up and down the rows counting heads, and Arena staff consulted constantly about queues, bag checks, ID's and other sundry exciting topics.
Once inside, we were taken to our places, and we settled ourselves into the seats that were going to be our home for the next 71/2 hours. Coats under the seats, we waited with anticipation for the rehearsals to begin. There was plenty to see and hear - the multitude of things occuring to ensure a smooth running major event.
At 2:15pm we were welcomed, and the practice began in ernest. Songs were sung, parts rehearsed, bars repeated, dance moves revisited, guest stars introduced, until eventually we collapsed into our seats for a well-earned rest.
Supper, and in some cases lunch boxes, were opened and goodies enjoyed. Trips to the toilet and a good opportunity to stretch legs and see a little bit of the inside of the 02 Arena.
All too soon it was time to return to our seats, as parents were expected into the concert.
There was much waving, shouting and excited exclamations as parents and friends were recognised. There was also quite a bit of random waving, just in case!
Promptly at 7pm the lights dimmed, silence fell and ... the concert began.
It was amazing. 8971 children, all singing together, in parts, is an emotional sound.
It was beautiful.
It reminded all of us of why we practice for 8 months of the year, give up our lunch times and learn so many words.
The guest artists were amazing and inspired us to aim for the stars!
At last the concert ended and we had the dubious pleasure of having to wait in the Arena for 30 mins while the upper levels cleared and we were allowed to board our coach to return to school.
While half of the coach fell asleep, the other half sang loudly (presumably to ensure they didn't fall asleep). Parents were waiting when we arrived at school and the children seemed eager to head for home.
We had a superb time and are looking forward to repeating the whole thing next year.
Come on 2019 - we're ready and waiting!
Our choir is working hard preparing for Young Voices 2018.
Letters and tickets about this exciting opportunity will be available in September 2017.

Choir trip to 'STOMP!'

STOMP - 22nd June 2017
The choir took a trip into London to see a performance of 'STOMP!', the musical.
It was an entertaining way to finish the year.
Due to our front row seats, choir members enjoyed being actively involved in the show. Great excitement was had by all.
