Covid Catch-Up Premium
COVID CATCH-UP PREMIUM
Pelham Primary School was allocated £31,480 in 2020/21.
The Government has recognised that “Children and young people across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19)" and have allocated funding to address this.
The funding can be used for specific activities to support pupils to catch up for lost teaching during lockdown and schools have the flexibility to spend this funding in the best way for their cohort and circumstances.
At Pelham, we have allocated the funding in the following way:
- The use of a Supply Teacher (4 days a week) to concentrate on targeted interventions across Years 1/2/3/4/5 or to release the Class Teacher to carry out the targeted interventions in these Year Groups. For the first half term, Year Groups 2/3/4/5 were identified as priority - This will be reviewed at the end of each half term and support will be directed accordingly. Year 6 already have allocated extra intervention from our school budget. The interventions will cover a range of core skills, for example, phonics, vocabulary and language, reading, writing, maths skills, etc.
The impact of this funding will be monitored to ensure maximum impact with our pupils.
