Health and Wellbeing - Roots to Food 2019
Roots to Food is a workshop held in school to promote healthy eating and demonstrates easy and quick to follow recipes that children can help cook at home.
At Pelham we were joined by Chef Darron who worked with Key Stage 2 in the morning and Key Stage 1 in the afternoon.
With Key Stage 2 we had two teams who had 15 minutes to cook up a delicious healthy meal with their given ingredients.
The Green Team created a chicken curry, with pilau rice and sag aloo potatoes.
The Orange Team created salmon fishcakes with spinach pasta with a red devil salsa.
The children were able to get up close to the tables to view the cooking process, as well as see and smell the final dishes.
The overall winner this year was.... The Orange Team!
With Key Stage 1 Darron inspired the children to make healthy smoothies.
