Governor Information
Pelham LAC
Head of School -Ex-officio - Mrs K Anderson-Vilardell
Parent - Mrs B Conkova
As a devoted parent of children at the school, I am committed to ensuring a positive experience for all students and improving the school environment. I actively volunteer for various charities and in the school's parent association. My professional and volunteer roles have involved organising events, participating in school fundraisers, and collaborating with diverse groups, honing my communication and teamwork skills. These experiences have motivated me to seek a role on the School Advisory Committee to contribute to the betterment of our educational community.
I am eager to work with committee members, school staff, and parents to address challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to the school's strategic planning. Additionally, I am a second-year student in health and social care, reflecting my passion for making a positive impact on people's lives.
Father Gareth Bowen
My name is Father Gareth Bowen, I am the Vicar of Saint Martin’s Church of England Church in Erith Road, Barnehurst.
I am married to Julie, who is also a Vicar, but in Bromley, she is also the Chaplain to Saint Olave’s School, in Orpington. Julie and I have two sons, Joshua who is a teacher in Greenwich and Gwynfor who is a doctor in Cheltenham.
You might see me walking with a stick, this is because I broke my back in a parachuting accident in 1989. Before I was ordained, I was in business from the age of 22, importing and exporting Coffee, and Coffee Machines.I am also a Governor of Saint Augustine’s Primary School, in Belvedere.
If you see me around Pelham School, please just call me Father Gareth and you can always talk with me. I believe that part of my role as a Governor here is to be present to support the School, All Staff, Pupils, and Parents.
Staff - Mrs L Appiah
Driven by a passion for social justice and the well-being of staff and pupils, I chose to become a school governor to make a real difference. I am passionate about providing opportunities for all children and firmly believe in the power of pupil voice and leadership. Encouraging students to express themselves and take on leadership roles is essential for their growth and empowerment.
As a mother, I share the hopes and concerns parents have for their children's education and well-being. In my role as a school governor, I am committed to supporting and challenging our schools to innovate and continuously improve, ensuring that every child feels valued, heard, and empowered to reach their full potential.
